Hey Y'all! Welcome to my corner.
I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Our family enjoyed being together.
There was a lot of work put into preparing our Thanksgiving feast. My Mom labored the day before baking all the pies. She bought food throughout the month in preparation for the big day. Once everyone arrived, we said the blessing and commenced to eating!
Then it was over.
All of that anticipation of smelling the food while waiting and hearing your stomach growl was over in no time. We all sat around looking at each other. We tried to carry on conversations between all the yawning but it proved to be difficult. Tim finally just laid down on the living room floor.
Anticipation is a short lived thing often times. Remember when you first heard the gospel with your heart? Do you remember how fast your heart was beating? The battle of your mind speaking doubt to you while your body wanted to move but couldn't.
I wish that I could say to you that I stay in a constant, joyous, emotional state of anticipation in serving the Lord. That would be untrue. I also wish I could write to you that I remain always thankful. I say that I'm thankful for all things. But do I carry Thanksgiving into ThanksLiving?
Living with so much excitement and anticipation in service to the Lord that regardless of outcomes my heart and mouth would echo, "Blessed be the Lord" is probably the definition of ThanksLIVING.
My son's school is having a food drive for the Asheboro CUOC. Many churches and other organizations are doing things to help those in need. The Thanksgiving and Christmas season tends to bring those needs to our heartstrings. That's a good thing.
What about the other 363 days of the year?
Please don't get mad at me. I'm just as guilty. What I'm trying to say here is this. We go and contribute two months out of the year to food pantries never thinking much about it. There's a song that says "Little is much when God is in it." God wants us to be in our Thanksliving mindset everyday.
If we could take that anticipation for the holiday feast, bottle it up and use it daily throughout the year, then folks; I think that's just what the Great Physician would order.
I love you guys. You let me share my thoughts with you. You are a blessing to me. I am truly thankful for you.
Well, I'll let ya go. Don't forget to take your prescription!
