Hey Y'all! Welcome to my corner.

I hope everyone had a good week. My week started out uneventful.

I've been with The Messengers Three for a year now and we practice at Guys' house. His yard is Always immaculate. Mowed perfectly and regularly. Sometime ago,

I commented to Lydia(that's Guy's wife) on how I admired their yard. I naturally assumed that this well-kept lawn was Guy's handi-work. Wrong. Come to find out, Lydia finds using the riding lawnmower relaxing! He lets her mow because he wouldn't want to deprive her of the joy it brings.

Well, I got to thinking about that. I've never pushed mowed a lawn in my whole life. I've never even sat on a riding lawnmower. Last Monday night, I decided that it was time. Time to jump on that mower and let er rip!

My husband just kinda looked at me funny when he saw me sitting on the mower. He looked worried, scared and proud all at the same time.

Our lawnmower is well-used. The "N" on the mower is really reverse. The gear shift requires the arms of a bodybuilder. There isn't enough WD-40 in the whole world to fix it! There is a first gear but you have to ram the thing up so hard that it's just gonna jump into second!

There is a brake. Good thing.

After Tim explained all of this to me I decided to go for it. I went around the trampoline. I did that 4 times. When dirt started flying up then I decided it was time to use reverse. I slowly applied the brake. I threw it into reverse. It almost threw me off! He didn't look proud anymore. He yelled something about the transmission. I couldn't really make it out because there was an oncoming tree in my way. and dirt flying everywhere. A lot of dirt.

I got a lot better with it. I had gained some confidence. Oh yeah, I'm not still going around the trampoline at this point. I've graduated all the way around the other side of the house.

Just about the time that I felt like I had mastered the mower, it sputtered. I don't know how much gas was in there to start with. All I do know is that it ran out in 30 minutes, in front of the house, with me on it.

We put it into neutral(what used to be first gear), shut it off and pushed it around the house. Tim told me he was proud of me. I know the truth. I didn't fall off a mower yesterday! Well, wait a minute. Almost. He was happy so that made me happy.

Well I woke up the next morning extremely stuffed up. I walked down the hallway to see my cat trying to cough up a hairball and for the first time I could really relate!

I went to work. The next day wasn't any better, still stuffed up, so I went to the doctor. I told him that I had gotten stuffed up after mowing the grass.

He tested me for allergies. Guess what! I'm allergic to grass. Talk about divine intervention! I'm glad Tim saw me on the mower before I decided to go for it. He carefully took the time to explain the gear shift to me. He showed me how to use the brake. He was concerned for my safety.

I take off running a lot. I get excited. God wants us to be excited about working for Him.

We sang at the Liberty Showcase this week. My children and sister were there. Tyler was laughing. He was looking upward as he jumped up and down praising the Lord. The next day his foot was swollen.

A trip to the ER revealed a fractured foot. The doctor said it was a couple of days old. It didn't swell until the day after the singing. Tyler can't talk and I felt horrible. The doctor said not to feel bad. He had seen this happen in typical children before.

That baby was so excited to be hearing praises of our Lord that he ignored the pain. He could not contain his joy for the Lord!

We can take off running for our Lord. We can serve Him in unlimited freedom knowing that He will protect us. Tyler didn't notice anyone noticing him. He was just happy in the Lord! That's the anticipation and excitement God wants us to have in serving Him daily.

Have a blessed week!
